BFF (Bestfriend Forever) and I had heard a lot of things about Simala (in Sibonga, south of Cebu), but had never been there. Last Monday we finally took the hour-and-a-half drive down south (typically two hours minimum but the roads were so good that we sped through them) and up the hill to the beautiful Shrine (also made a short stop at Balay sa Tisa in Carcar, a cultural heritage site) - all the while going about the pilgrimage like it was a class excursion. What a riot!
